VibeBoard
Privacy Policy

VibeBoard was made for one reason: your things should stay yours. This policy explains what the extension stores, which requests it makes, and what it never does.

Applies to VibeBoard version 1.4.0 and later. Last updated: 12 October 2026

The short version: there is no account and no server of ours. Your notes, pictures, tasks and reminders are saved in your browser, on your device, and we never receive them. The extension has no analytics, no ads and no tracking. It asks for no access to the websites you visit.

1. At a glance

WhatWhere it goes
Boards, notes, pictures, tasks, calendar events, links, files and saved textStay in your browser, on your device.
Settings and remindersSaved on your device with the browser's extension storage, so reminders can show while no tab is open.
Website icons for shortcuts and linksLoaded as pictures from Google's icon service. It receives the website's name (for example https://github.com), never the page.
YouTube videos you addThe picture and the player come from YouTube, only for videos you add.
Access to the websites you visitNone.
Account, analytics, ads, trackingNone.

2. Who is responsible

VibeBoard is designed and developed by Rocuo ("we"). Contact us at info@rocuo.com. For the rocuo.com website itself, see the website privacy policy.

3. What is stored on your device

Everything you create stays in your browser. The extension uses three places:

  • IndexedDB: boards and widgets, quick items, calendar events, and the files you add to the File Drop widget.
  • Chrome extension storage (local): your settings and reminders, so the extension can show a reminder while no VibeBoard tab is open.
  • localStorage: small settings and markers, for example your Quick Access links and which widgets stay on every day.

Quick items that you tag with a sensitive word (pw, pass, password, secret, secure or encrypted) are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before they are saved. The key is created and kept on the same device. This keeps the text unreadable to a casual look at your browser's stored data. It is not a replacement for a password manager. Everything else is saved as you typed it, like the data of any browser extension.

Files you add to File Drop never leave your browser. They are kept in IndexedDB and opened from there.

You are in control. Delete a widget, board, quick item or reminder and it is gone. Removing the extension, or clearing its data in your browser, deletes everything we could ever have stored. We keep no copy.

4. Permissions

VibeBoard asks Chrome for three permissions, and uses each only for the reason below:

  • storage: to save your settings and reminders on your device.
  • alarms: to wake the extension at the time of your reminders, even when no VibeBoard tab is open.
  • notifications: to show your reminders, with Snooze and Done buttons, as system notifications. We never send you promotions or messages.

No website access. The extension asks for no permission to read or change websites and has no content script. It cannot see the pages you visit, the text you type on them or your browsing history. The Alt+\ search box and the @@ suggestions work only inside the extension's own board page.

5. Requests to other websites

VibeBoard does not use any third-party analytics, tracking or advertising service. A few features contact other websites, only for what you use. These requests contain only what a normal web request contains: your IP address, the address of the thing requested and, as with any request your browser makes, cookies the browser may already hold for that website. The extension adds nothing of its own and sends none of your notes, tasks, files or quick items.

WhenWho is contactedWhat for
A link or shortcut is shown (Quick Access, Magnet, Link widget, File Drop link), including the default Quick Access shortcuts Google's icon service (www.google.com) and, for the Contacts shortcut, Google's image host (www.gstatic.com) To show the website's icon. The service receives the website's name (for example https://github.com, never the page, search or password) and your IP address. Your browser can keep the picture for up to a week, so it is not asked again on every new tab. We do not contact the websites you link to. Only you do, when you click a link.
You add a YouTube link to the Media widget YouTube (i.ytimg.com for the picture, youtube-nocookie.com for the player) The video picture loads when you add the link. The player loads only when you press play. Nothing is requested before you add a link.
You click a link, or choose a web address for the new tab redirect in Settings The website you chose Normal browsing.

QR codes, colors, text tools, the random picker, day counters, the calendar and reminders are all made on your device with no network request. The interface font is bundled with the extension. No code is downloaded: the extension runs only the code inside its package.

6. Reminders

Reminders are checked on your computer by the browser's alarm system, so they work while Chrome is running, even without an open tab. A reminder is shown as a system notification on your device. Reminder text and times are never sent anywhere. Your operating system may hide notifications (for example in Focus Assist or Do Not Disturb), and reminders do not fire while Chrome is closed.

7. Export and import

You can export your boards, quick items, calendar events and reminders as a JSON file for backup. The file stays on your device. You can import it in another browser to restore your data. Files added to File Drop are not part of the backup. A backup file contains your data in readable form, so keep it somewhere safe.

8. What we do not do

  • We do not collect, store or receive your notes, pictures, tasks, files or reminders.
  • We do not read the websites you visit, your open tabs or your browsing history.
  • We do not use analytics, crash reports, ads or tracking.
  • We do not sell personal information or share it with anyone.

9. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

VibeBoard's use of user data follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We do not use or transfer it for personalized ads, or for credit or lending decisions. We do not use it for any purpose other than the extension's single purpose: a private board for your new tab. No person can read your data, because it never reaches us.

10. Your choices and rights

Because your content stays on your device, you control it directly. For information we hold because you wrote to us (for example your email), you can ask us to show it, correct it or delete it by emailing info@rocuo.com. You may have more rights under the law where you live.

11. Children

VibeBoard is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will appear here with a new date. If a change ever affects how your data is handled, we will tell you inside the extension before it takes effect.
